What's new in iPhone 18 Pro vs 17 Pro
- Variable aperture on the main camera — f/1.48 to f/4.0 instead of a fixed f/1.78. More light in the evening and real optical background blur in portraits.
- A20 Pro chip on a 2 nm process — a 7-core GPU instead of 6 and better cooling, so the phone holds full speed longer in games and while recording.
- Longer battery and faster charging — per Apple, 3 hours more on the 18 Pro and 6 hours more on the 18 Pro Max; up to 50% in about 15 minutes with a 60 W adapter.
- Smaller Dynamic Island — fits up to three Live Activities at once.
- New colours and 2 TB — Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy; up to 2 TB storage on the smaller 18 Pro too.

Both have the same chip and the same cameras. They differ in screen size (6.3″ and 6.9″), battery (up to 36 and 45 hours of video) and weight (211 g and 249 g). Choose the Pro Max if you watch a lot, play games or spend whole days away from a charger. Choose the Pro if you want a phone that is comfortable in one hand.
iPhone Duo — the first foldable iPhone
Apple introduced iPhone Duo on 9 September 2026 alongside iPhone 18 Pro. Unfolded it has a 7.6″ screen; folded it works like a regular phone with a 5.4″ screen. Inside there is the A20 Pro, a video-call camera hidden under the inner display and Touch ID in the side button. The titanium body is 5.2 mm thin when open and weighs 254 g.
